What Your Favorite Ice Cream Flavor Says About You
In July, we celebrate National Ice Cream Month. From Italian Spumoni to Vanilla Bean Ice Cream, see what your favorite ice cream flavor says about you.

Chocolate is for the young at heart who speak their mind freely with enthusiasm and honesty. Creativity and talent are often the first traits others notice about chocolate ice cream fans.

Just because you like Vanilla does not mean you are ordinary. You are daring but calculating and experimental and you take risks and set high goals for yourself.

Strawberry ice cream enthusiasts tend to be shy, cautious, traditional and committed when in relationships. While you’re a good friend, it may take a while to get close to someone.

Chocolate Chip Cookie Dough is reserved for indulgent party-animals. You do what you want to do – even if it interferes with work!

Butter Pecan lovers tend to be old-fashioned, hard-working and detail oriented. So you are all about business, but know how to kick back and relax.

With Spumoni or Neopolitan, it may be obvious but favoring these ice cream flavors says you can be slightly indecisive. If you’re ever unsure, always pick dessert first!

Chocolate Chip ice cream fans love fun, sports and competition. You have a good sense of humor and are easy to laugh – and you’re a complete extrovert. Some might say you’re the life of the party.

Which ice cream flavor are you? What other flavors do you love?  Don’t forget that National Ice Cream Day is the July 21st.

How to make single, double, and triple loop bows tutorial

How to make single, double, and triple bows.

Supplies needed:
Ribbon - ( Offray, Morex Corp., Really Reasonable Ribbon)
Bow maker or your fingers
scissors

Supplies for cards:
bows and ribbon, cardstock - Recollections and Georgia Pacific
Designer digital papers- ( Bearly Mine Designs, and Imagine That),
ATG runner, pop dots, glue dots, Zig glue pen or other fine tip glue,
buttons, pearls, charm
digis and Copics or other medium

Here are the supplies needed to make bows. The peach bow maker is by 3 Girl Jam. The white plastic one is by Really Reasonable Ribbon. I have used both. For a tiny bow I think the RRR bow maker is best. For several loops 3 Girl Jam is best. I like using my fingers. That is what I will be doing today. Plus it does not take up room in the suitcase when you travel. The ribbon is cut into strips 11" for single loop bow, 18" for double loop bow, and 24" for triple loop bow.

Single Loop Bows

You will start the same way for all the bows. Lay the ribbon across your fingers and hold the end down with your thumb.

Wrap the ribbon around your fingers.

Wrap the ribbon around and over your thumb and slide it over the ribbon and between your fingers.

Pull the ribbon down towards the bottom of ribbon on your fingers. This will form a loop for your knot.

Now bring the ribbon up and slide the ribbon behind the loop.

Pull the ribbon through but not tight.

Now pull the ribbon up towards the other side and continue to hold tight the other end as you tighten. This will put your ends on the same side.

Note: If your ribbon is not double sided, twist the ribbon before tightening so the sides face the same way.

Pull the bow off your fingers. This is what you should have. You can trim the ends now or wait till you are ready to use your bow.

Double Loop Bows

Start the same way as a single loop bow by wrapping the ribbon around your fingers.

Bring your ribbon around your finger.

Now here is where it changes. Bring the ribbon around your finger and then cross it under the other one.

Wrap it around and cross it under the other one. This will create 2 loops.

Now bring the ribbon up and over the ribbon on your fingers and slide it between your fingers. This will be the loop for your knot.

Pull the ribbon down and bring it up and slide the ribbon into the loop for your knot.

Pull the ribbon through the knot, but not tight. Then pull the ribbon up towards the other side so your ends are on the same side of your bow.

Tighten your bow as you hold the other end of your bow.

Now pull off your loops starting with the first two which were the last two loops you made.  Then do  the next two. This helps to shape your bow.

This is what you should have.

Triple Loop Bows

Start the same way as in the other bows by wrapping the ribbon around your fingers.  Bring the ribbon over and under your finger as in the double bow..

Now bring it over your finger and cross it under the other finger, wrapping it over this finger and crossing and wrapping it under the other finger.

Bring it over that finger and cross it again and wrap it around the other finger. This will make 3 loops on each side. You have to cross back and forth for the bow to loop right.

Now bring your ribbon up and over the ribbon on your fingers. Slide through your fingers and behind the ribbon. Bring it up and slide behind this looped piece and through it.

Pull it to tighten and then pull it towards the other side so your ends are on the same side. Make sure you hold the other end of the bow as you tighten it.

Now pull off the last 2 loops first.

Pull off the middle loops next. Then the last 2 loops. Doing it this way helps to shape your bow.

Note: It is much harder to shape it once it is off your fingers.

This is what you should have.

Now cut the ends of your bows. I try to have enough ribbon so I can pull the ends up level with the last loop and cut at an angle. Sometimes I want the ends shorter and I'll cut them later to fit my card.

Note: Save your scraps of ribbon. They can be used on cards later.  I place mine in a zip lock bag.

Here are the 3 bows we just made together.

Here are the bows I made with the ribbons I had cut.

Now choose your digis for your cards or gifts. I am using Robyn's Fetish digis - Fruity Strawberry,  Cake, Strawberry Delight, Strawberry Mouse, Strawberry word art. You can find these digis here http://robynsfetish.com

Here they are all colored and cut out.

Here are 4 cards I made.

Here is a small box I made and added a bow to it.

This photo is looking straight down on the top of the box.

This card is a Tri- shutter card. I thought I'd try putting ribbon and a bow on one.

Thank you for dropping by. I hope you will try making bows this way. It is fun and addictive. It goes quite quickly. See you next time Edwina
